Sorry, I was wrong. There is just a strange behiviour but not a very
serious problem: If you change the "connector" in the "output" tab of
the ubunut sound preferences, the sound card is not working any more.

I wrote the 10.04 LTS upgrade iso to a dvd and ran it and got this
error.It stopped at the Setting new software channels protion of the
upgrade. I selected both run from cd and start package manager but they
had the same error.

I am facing this problem too. And because of this I have to shift to
windows 7. I couldn't download via torrents or have an important video
conference. Every time I have to reset network manager to connect again.
I am using broadcom internal wifi card
