the restart code is only used for version upgrades. the security
advisory only states "you need to restart all services", not that they
are restarted automatically. and not every shared library comes with a
restart code.
I'll leave that to the security team, how to handle this in general.

I'm using a german Vodafone UMTS stick to connect to the internet via Network
Manager.
NM correctly prompts for the SIM PIN-code, but shows the digits in cleartext.
This is very bad, since UMTS is often used mobile and the SIM code is readable
by everyone around.
