I had resolved the problem in Ubuntu (both Karmic and Lynx) by uninstalling
compiz and its libraries, while in Mint-Helena the same can be was fixed by
disabling the visual effects. I have tried but have not been able to isolate

I have the same problem on my r50p just updated to lucid.
Hibernation works but the init.d scripts at resume "forgot" to see the past
hibernation and do a cold start.
Network manager stays in disabled mode (because standby and hibernation scripts
disable it). To reenable the quickest thing to do

Hi there, I have been exploring Launchpad following the email I received
about your previous comment and found this page. Firstly I should
apologise for not replying sooner - being new to Ubuntu and the
community I wanted to do my part and report the bug but didn't know how
to follow it up.
Gentle men, this bug is caused by Avahi trying to bind to Vmware's
network module. Any application that uses avahi will likely cause a
kernel panic, not only Empathy, but also Pidgin will cause that problem
should the Bonjour/Avahi account be activated
I reported this problem back in Ubuntu 8.
I've got i working now.
By using the PPA from this post.
It also includes the source for changing bluez accordingly.
It basically comes to tell the tablet to go in full functional mode.

In lucid the X060 connects only once every 20 trials, sometimes the red/green
light shows connection but nm does not.
I installed in Lucid the karmik patch.. but still many problems.
What hapens:
When the modem is plugged the orange light flashes but it takes one or two
minutes the nm to detect
I have to agree with Casey on this. I think UI usability is absolutely
crucial to getting more users and this is elementary.

mc shows the directory size of 9 mb, but du -ch shows 231 mb. If I copy
this folder to the local file system, the size matches. I think it's a
du's problem, not mc. Try to compare with Nautilus

I find I can get the Logout/Shutdown menu back by right-clicking the top
panel and changing the "show hide buttons" tick-box. This forces the
panel to be re-drawn and the menu reappears. It stays there if I then
reset the hide buttons to their original settings.

has no i810 but some kind of integrated Radeon. Workarounds include:

So Do I... The UI is very important and if we want Ubuntu to gain more
