I have a similar issue on my DELL M1330.
The only difference is that I go straight to GDM or to a screen with the
wallpaper of my GDM and no login interface.
Nouveau works fine.
I have tried the Suspend-Hibernate troubleshooting guide and there is nothing
logged. I will try the the steps outlined

I´m no linux expert by any stretch but the ´sudo´ commands mentioned
above appear wrong to me (John Seales refers to them).
As I understand it, the command is invoking superuser/root authority
(sudo) and then doing it again with su (super user). It should be one or
the other. The -c has something

It is still an issue. I am currently using Lucid and the 2.6.33 kernel
from the mainline PPA. Occasionally the microphone will pick up a lot
of noise and only my voice if I am touching the microphone with my lips,
and at these times the speakers can also be muted when I plug headphones

Hello,
I just buy a Sony VAIO VPCEB1E1E with Kubuntu Karmic.
Sound card is : realtek ALC269.

forth through my vtys I managed to get my desktop :)

Total elapsed time is sometimes days or hours when in fact I have taken
less than an hour elapsed time and active time is also off although a
bit closer. I gather that it has not been fixed with the upgrade to
9.10.
