or your download mirror is down. Can you please change your download

The workaround didn't worked for me. It fixes the problem only a few
seconds after the system startup, when i can press 2 or enter as often
as i want. But a few (minutes) later, hitting enter crashes the system
again (for only one time).

It is not a long term solution, but I found another solution, for getting
/proc/bus/usb back again and no need for usbfs.
First I put my user to sudoers for /bin/mount and /bin/umount
Then I changed my scanner script to do the magic.
Before running my scanner the script will do:

capitalized letters (though not the same names, even ignoring case), the
Unison archive is created in a way that switching on or off the
"ignorecase" flag makes
I confirm this bug, in ubuntu 10.04, likewise open version 5.4.0.39949-3
Moreover in my opinion , a GUI would be needed to configure the .reg file.

maybe you should check, if the hardware needs usbfs, or just needs
/proc/bus/usb.

sudo mount --bind /dev/bus /proc/bus
or
sudo mount --bind /dev/bus/usb /proc/bus/usb
