Can I reflag that libboost-mpi1.41-dev is missing as well even though it
is not depended on by another package. Lucid is going out with Boost
1.40 as the default but Boost 1.41 is included as well. It would be
good to ensure a nice consistent set of Boost packages.

Please close this as invalid. I discovered that by adding
"position_fix=1" to my alsa module options the capture problems go away.

I doubt the problem is in Grub. This happens when the BIOS doesn't
support USB 2.0 at BOOT TIME, so it uses the slower 1.1 (you should see
your hdd recognized as a 1.1 device when the system is starting). Once
your OS loads, you have full 2.0 support, that's why lspci output is
useless in this case

- there wasn't any frequent EDID probing going on
- the issue was monitor model specific. Switching to another monitor model made
the issue go away.

Carlos, yes, this is known, the web editor is a bit broken in regards to
nested lists. We are looking at replacing it with another editor, that
generates well-formed HTML. Now at least you shouldn't lose the nested
lists structure if you just edit notes on Tomboy/Conboy

This bug seems to be about some program that probes the monitor for the
EDID information repeatedly. We have had several of those in the past,
but usually it would be limited to once per 1-10 sec, which is bad
enough. The challenge here is to find which program probes EDID. First,
try gnome instead
