I'm not entirely sure. Both represent different classes of maintenance
issues. I chose to patch the source on build because from the
documentation I found I had the impression that CDLL matched a specific
API, rather than a specific ABI, and doing it this way allows the ABI to
change without API
It was like that before. But in lucid, you can have two sessions now,
the GNOME one and the UNE one.
In fact, UNE is basically a GNOME session with some tweaked.

installationthe grub entry for root says /dev/sda3 instead of /dev/sda8.

I've just upgraded KDE from Kubuntu's default repositories (ran sudo
apt-get dist-upgrade) and now KDE Is completely broken. The session
doesn't have a panel, there are no plasmoids and the right-click menu on
the desktop doesn't open a right-click menu.

I couldn't remember if wget would error out on an invalid certification, but
reading the man page for wget, it seems that as long as wget is compiled with
openssl, it will error out (good).

My computer was in standby mode.
On wakeup, this crash was reported. I did not notice what happened precisely.
