For the record, I'd like to see upstart depend on "ifupdown | some-
other-package-that-brings-up-lo" since the default upstart configuration
requires the loopback interface to be brought up in order to be
functional. I know not everyone agrees with this. Maybe it could at
least be a recommends.

I tried it first with the Kernel 2.6.32 then with the mainline Kernel 2.6.33

I'm not an IT guy, but I am having problems with high CPU usage. Always
over 90% on a fairly new install of Ubuntu running on a Pentium 4 on a

Yes, we discussed this in #ubuntu-devel. I now have 1:0.9.22~0.9.21
+stable-queue-32-g8478-0ubuntu8 for pulse and 1.0.22-0ubuntu5 for
libasound2-plugins. I get the exact same error messages as before even
though libasound2-plugins does ship the pulse libs now:
$ dpkg -L libasound2-plugins | grep p
Setting to Confirmed because I'm seeing this issue too

Same issue here, but sound works no problems, just a little quiet, can't
seem to set it louder like I had in 9.10

Yes, it is.

No. All keyboard input is frozen. I tried that input along with all the
others from "REISUB".

This is caused by some UTF-8 data somehow getting into the menu data.
Default encoding is "ascii" in python, and when python tries to
manipulate the UTF-8 menu string, it crashes. The program that is
failing is /usr/sbin/update-app-install, in
/usr/lib/pymodules/python2.6/xdg/Menu.py. If I add at
@Draycen - "dpkg --get-selections | grep -v deinstall > ubuntu-files"
gives me the following list that I've added as an attachment - does this
give you what you need?
