As you suggested me , I tried with kernel 2.6.32.6 cause don't have any other.
I now that's not a standard Karmic but it was downloaded from Ubuntu kernel

data wasn't getting destroyed by the hardware failures, as opposed by

BTW: it is possible that not all of those applications still need
python-pysqlite2, as we don't have python < 2.5 in the repositories
anymore, and python >= 2.5 include sqlite3, which is functionally
equivalent.
