Please don't use sudo pulseaudio -. In doing so, you're causing the
wrong permissions to be used for ~/.pulse* , which means you'll need to
erase them (sudo rm ~/.pulse* ) then logout and login.
If anything, /only/ use pulseaudio -vv (- isn't likely to gain you
any more relevant debugging

Sound recording works trough laptops built in mic, but alsa doesn't seem to be

The bug has been fixed, but just for the record, this was about the
template not being generated by the .deb package on build, not about the
source tarball creating a template. Here's how a package can be tested
for compliance with Launchpad Translations (i.e. whether it creates a

after creating a USB memory stick with the install image, it finally
booted in. I could run the install, but at the end it fails installing
grub. moreover, it doesn't even create /etc/default/grub , so that it
would be easy to do an update-grub..

I cannot reproduce this on a Firefox 3.6 installation in Catalan. Is
someone else still experiencing this? Otherwise, I think the bug can be

I stilt have the the problem on every boot. System fully updated. plymouth -
0.8.0~-9ubuntu1
Using the binary nvidia driver.
No logo during boot, but white and blue line.
Output after using Alt+SysRq+K to restart:

Did you see my latest posting? It was my stupid fault. The config links on
the rear of the DVD were wrong. For some reason that renders it bootable,
but not visible when running Ubuntu.

back to plain "usb hid"

Another note: I am using a remote connection over ssh from virt-manager
to the kvm system. virt-manager behaves differently when run locally -
it finds the interfaces (presumably it detects them directly rather than
querying the hypervisor?).
