Ubuntu 9.10 w/nvidia driver seems to work OK. So failure is occurring
for me on 8.04.4 and Lucid alpha 2.
Sequence of events is:
1. Fresh install of OS.
2. Use System > Administration > Update Manager to install all current updates.
3. Re-boot.
4. Use System > Administration > Hardware Drivers to
-cli and -gtk are no different in that regard, they use the same checks.
The most plausible cause is that right after an install you need to
refresh the package list. If you wait a day, then it gets refreshed
automatically; you can also start synaptic and use the refresh button.

Yeah, I know that. I do it everytime the upload fails - mostly when the
report exceeds 200 MB. But what does it have to do with what have been
discussed? If your reply refers to comment #3, then please allow me to
be clearer:
1. Crash
2. Apport: "Oops, let's upload a report to the developers?". Me
This might be similar to bug 478962. While triaging it, we have noticed
that gvfs drops the cd drive after insertion of a CD. Further tests are
difficult in that report due to limited technical abilities of the
reporter.

I don't have access to that system!
But it has ATI graphic card with open source ATI drivers.
It's graphic had some problems.
But now, in another system I face with this error and apport did not
luanched!

I'm having this problem on Mythbuntu Karmic. I've troubleshooted it to
a race condition. While /etc/init.d/lirc is starting the daemon,
another process restarts (stops and starts) it. Sometimes it overlaps
to cause a failure and sometimes it still works.
Why is the bug still "unassigned"?

After running apt-get install quassel-core again, it installs fine.
This problem can be reproduced by removing the package and installing it

The installation is performed correcty, only quasselcore fails to start
