Sometimes, my Asus WL-167G does not connect to my WPA2 enabled network.
Looking at the logs, I see the authentication is ok, but suddenly it is
deauthenticated by local choice (reason=3), whatever that means. After
a few wicd restarts the connection is up and running.

For me, this solved the problem:
apt-get clean
This basically deletes all the downloaded ".deb" files (which are no

Well, I get firefox-3.6, but it's the same issue. The binary for the default
Firefox has always been firefox, so that's what apport should try to launch.
The thing is, that apport just uses the gnome default url handler:
gconftool --get /desktop/gnome/url-handlers/http/command
/usr/bin/firefox-

you happen to have any idea whether the disk is now GPT, MBR, or some
unholy mix of both? It's not only parted that flags it as GPT, fdisk
does the same (and recommends parted because it cannot deal with GPT).

My desktop, an emachines dual core freezes in Lucid since yesterday's
OpenOffice and other upgrades. No flashes, beeps or boops, it just
freezes. The Karmic partition is fine.
It will function for a few minutes, but always freezes when trying to
check for updates, whether with the update manager,

I have a similar problem here in Karmic.
I am unable to unmount the CDROM as normal user.
Neither the Eject applet nor Nautilus are able to eject it.
The workaround is to execute
> sudo eject /media/crdom0
