Can confirm this bug on three different boxes. Ekiga doesn't work on
Karmic using pulse. This essentially leaves Ubuntu without a SIP-capable
phone application. Empathy doesn't count as it's SIP support is close to
non-existent (can't connect to sipgate for example, fails to place calls

I have this same issue; however, not caused by an upgrade to 9.10. Mine
is a fresh install of 9.10 (32bit), fully updated, to which I have added

should be a small usability issue , in the default Ubuntu 9.10 install ,
that affects many people and is quick and easy to fix. So this bug can't
be addressed as part of the project.

I can confirm that at least with a live boot cd of 9.10 this situation
still exists in both 32bit and 64bit, but as before I only have limited
access to this machine. I will attempt to get hold of it again and
install 9.10 so that I can try your suggestion. Thank you for your

socket?
Fixing eucalyptus-nc.upstart will handle the case of a "civilized" restart by
the sysadmin, but not if for instance the libvirtd dies and gets started by
hand with /usr/sbin/libvirtd -d right?
