Seems that the new version does _not_ fix the problem. Here is what I

IT WORKS!
Kudos to michael37, connected laptop via wired network, and all system updates
went through.
Once System Updates completed, the wireless driver has been fixed, and now I
have no more lock ups with OpenSUSE.
next step: reinstalling Ubuntu, and once that works too I will close
this bug.

is no reason to unset middle click from gsd if the driver doesn't enable
it in ubuntu...

I have reinstalled nvidia-common and the bug disappeared. Although I
don't use the nvidia graphic card.

Hi, you'll find instructions how to fix this in bug 512096. Can it be
that you ran out of disk space once or had a system crash while
installing packages? The DpkgTerminalLog shows messages about empty
files.
I'm sorry to hear Ubuntu One isn't working properly for you. The issue
you're facing was likely fixed just a bit ago on the server side. You
should be able to try to restart the client and should be able to
connect. If you've never been able to connect, then you are likely
affected by bug 488413. P

After enabling CTL support, Hebrew MS office 2003 files are opened as should
(right to left).
Problem is with Hebrew docx files (MS 2007). In such files, document isn't
opened automatically as right to left, it's OK only after using CTRL
