i disagree. though i am not a coder i think that this is a small bug
which can be easily fixed by sending out a notification when the new
hardware is detected for first time.
and it is a usability issue as many people dont know that their
fingerprint reader/ webcam is detected and working in linux
task that is not implemented in an app is a new feature.

When I deleted ucvideo from the blacklist, it didn't make the camera
work. Not only that, but I lost my usb ports again. Putting it back in
the blacklist fixed my usb ports. So I guess they haven't completely
fixed the videocamera problem yet. Still, I'm ahead of where I was

I seem to have the same problem in 9.10, using cups 1.4.1. Printing
certain PDF files will cause pdftopdf to grab all the memory it can get.
My current workaround is to print to a .ps-file and then print this ps
file. Should I open a new bug or reuse this one?

That was the problem. Once I renamed the file to have .cfg extension it
was automatically picked up.
Can you make hobbit-client to print warning into log files on start in
case it finds filenames in directory etc/hobbit/clientlaunch.d that do

can't recall exactly what hte failure was, but once I reset the device
to factory defaults, the sync completed fine.

Today, I tried to watch the same youtube video in a virtualized
environment.
I made this test with Virtualbox 3.1.2 (non-OSE version), on two different
virtual machines :
- one under Ubuntu 10.04 alpha 2, on which I only installed the proprietary
flash plugin (version 10.0.42.34). I did not inst
You are not using cdrecord but wodim. You thus cannot expect that
writing to DVDs works at all.
wodim is a fork made from a more than 4 year old cdrecord version
by adding plenty of bugs and by replacing the mature DVD support
from the original cdrecord by something half baken. Note that if
I installed linux-backports-modules-alsa-karmic-generic (could not find
linux-backports-modules-alsa-karmic) and it did not fix the issue. Still
have no working mic.

Trimming the output of the "ekiga -d 4" command is uploaded. I could
not understand the problem. It looks like ekiga tries to use some event
sounds to hang up, it does not work maybe? The event sound files are
where the are looked for. Do not get what the problem is. Messages don;t
