BIOS setting that caused Ubuntu to freeze/behave odd! In BIOS there's a
setting about onboard graphic card initialization. Change it from
"always onboard" to "PCI", even though you don't have another graphic
card!

am seeing this bug on a clean Karmic install.
it's as if the file chooser dialogue is "inactive" in some way... if you
click one of the buttons (a radio button, or check box), e.g. all files
or selected files (even if it's the same one as is already selected,
when you click "extract" it works fine
btw, a colleague with a similarly clean Karmic install, gets exactly what you'd
expect... extract then extract performs the extraction.

Looks like the culprit is gnome-screensaver-command which is set as
proximity command in blueproximity. When I run that command in a loop
(without running blueproximity) I get the same behavior that the menu in
OO opens and closes every 5 seconds.

I think keyutils should be recommended.
@Etienne: re: "Kerberos authentication is only one possible mechanism,
and already requires setting up Kerberos.". What are the other
mechanisms ? Should we recommend a virtual that would be provided by
keyutils ? What would be the downside of having keyutil
It seems that the trunk NM PPA fix has now stopped connecting for me -
although there are no problems remembering the password.

For what it's worth, my problems seemed to be due to the ATI chipset and
open source driver (not that the ATI one is better). With the same
distribution copied on a thinkpad W500 and using the intel chip instead
of the ATI one, I get a much better:

We're closing this bug since it is has been some time with no response from the
original reporter. However, if the issue still exists please feel free to

the latest development version of Ubuntu, since this confirm

This is a problem at our site. We need to use a workaround where we use
smbclient -k '\\dfs\path\' -c 'list' to get the real path to the server.
Windows administrators feels the need to move things around so we can't
publish the real path instead.
