After recent updates, same problem occurs here on a lenovo thinkpad

On start of Ubuntu Lucid 2.6.32-9, the computer hangs (if not started in
rescue mode, from where the apport information was collected). My screen
is blank with a non-blinking cursor in the upper left corner. It hangs

I've tested "acpi_enforce_resources=lax" : same warning, no more error

had this issue too in karmic. This happened when traffic full such as
bittorrent download. but when using modem's pppoe it never disconnect
even traffic full. so it would be good if unchecking Send Echo Reply in
network manager would remove lcp-echo-failure

the -q option not working. What output are you seeing? I think there may be
some debugging info left over from development. You should be able to comment
out the line containing
conn.set_debuglevel

I updated system files of 8.10 today 3 Jan 2010, but it is still not
possible to use 1024x768 resolution. Next I'll try to update system to
the version 9.04, because 9.10 seems not to be available for Xubuntu
8.10 at the moment.

I can confirm that parts of some of the images are missing, for example
the graphs on pages 14 and 17. Interestingly, the missing parts vary at
different page zoom levels.

The problem is with the "Wobbly Windows" Compiz plugin. Disabling it
solves the problem, so I think that there's the bug.
