Hey,
had the same problem in Ubuntu 9.10 64bit .
Uninstalling pulseaudio and the mic is ok in my windows xp guest.
I had to do a
apt-get purge pulseaudio gstreamer0.10-pulseaudio + the rest of my packages
related to pulse (found via dpkg -l | grep pulse),
except i still got libpulse-browse0 l

It's a known bug that I introduced upstream, it's been fixed upstream
but the new version is not yet in Ubuntu (basically a typo in one of our
init scripts function cause the script to crash and not start ldm).

Are the clients never getting the GUI?
I've got a 9.10 LTSP install where a client has about a 60% chance of

Just to confirm that the Lucid daily-build from 09-Dec-2009 is not
restarting my desktop with integrated HD3200 any more. I am able to run
the Try Ubuntu mode now on the desktop, without modifying or changing
anything in the menu options. Good work.

I've reconsidered the picture a couple of times, and I cannot see any
error. The last line around the exploded mine is 1 M M 2 1 1, and just
above it is 1 3 4 4 M 2.

I did testcase again and on ubuntu 8.04 LTS still hang... But on ubuntu 9.10
(i386, and amd64) seems that is OK and testcase runs correctly.

Hi Joar,
Thanks for your update but I would like to fix this issue with using
pulseaudio. I think that Ubuntu will use pulseaudio in future and it's not
clean way to uninstall pulseaudio and use "alsa".

we simply refuse to delete them, showing a dialog: "John Doe is
currently using this computer. Please ensure the user has logged out
before deleting this account."

Bumping down to medium since this is (at least temporarily) on purpose
and 10.04 is in the early alpha stage. The Phonon guys are working on a
patch for Qt's Phonon, and should hopefully have it done soon.
