Hi, I have exactly the same problem.
I found out that if I plug in a ethernet cable the wlan reconnects after some
time.
( This is the only method to bring the wlan link back up apart from rebooting
the system )

As I mentioned in the first post this is a one-time issue when upgrading

This is strange... I think it depends on how still the flash-ads outside the
video are. This time they were still, and I get no flickering (well, maybe one
at the beginning, but after that it was completely stable. Strange...

I have a good old Epson Perfection 1260 which functioned perfecly in previous
Kubuntu versions. All of them were IA32.
I decided then to try Kubuntu Karmic 64 bits, as my system is an IA64 and the
software support for these systems improved a lot.
