Yes, the problem is most likely caused by gcl and not maxima.
One could try to download the CVS version of GCL and see if the problem

Well if the ipod is full there's nothing you can do basically, just
remove a few songs and as an advice try to use only one program to
manage your ipod, gtkpod writes the db in a diff way than rhythmbox they
use the same library in the end but not the same nomenclature, maybe try
to backup you ipod

I downgraded to jaunty libopenexr6 ( http://packages.ubuntu.com/jaunty-
updates/libopenexr-dev ) and compiled qtpfsgui-1.9.2 from sourceforge
and it worked again.
Steps:
sudo apt-get build-dep qtpfsgui # install stuff needed to build the package
http://sourceforge.net/projects/qtpfsgui/files/
/usr/local/Zend/etc/php.ini? That's not the file from the libapache2
-mod-php5 package...

As far as I know, the only way to stop the screensavers activating
(after a delay) is to uninstall gnome-screensaver.
I don't see gnome-screensaver in the ps aux list, which means it's not
running as a background process, and i am not invoking it knowingly. If
I do invoke it from the terminal it a
Version 2.9.1 compiled and installed from source... and all is ok now!
