It's actually almost certainly just in the middle of downloading. I can
see in the debug log that it's busily *trying* to emit progress messages
about what it's doing, but those progress messages are vanishing into
thin air. I think we need a more complete implementation of the debconf
DATA command
I'm also using a 32-bit version of Ubuntu 9.10, after an upgrade from
Dell's 9.04 image.

pciehp.pciehp_force=0 or 1 ( both actually worked, I left 1) and adding

So, what happened here is that as part of the auto-update branch we
removed ubiquity's local fork of the updateInterface method on the
grounds that python-apt had merged the fixes that made the fork

On runing update-grub a backup of menu.lst should be made. But not only the
last run (which I know is in menu.lst~) but it would be nice to have 1
I recently started experiencing this problem. I've had a quick scan of
the hardware configuration above and I can't see any similarities. I've
got 9.10 (32bit) on Intel hardware

I can replicate this behaviour by connecting to a libvirt server over the
internet, even on the default ssh port.
Should it not be: virt-manager hangs when connecting to qemu+ssh over slow
links?

Apparently removing the following file make the crash go away.
/usr/share/kubuntu-default-settings/hal-policy-ntfs-config-write-
policy.fdi
do not close as duplicate, hald shoudn't SEGFAULT no matter how bad
files given.

My T40 use Atheros AR5211 chip which didn't work with Ath5k driver.
However, my another T60 with Atheros AR5212, works excellent with Ath5k.
I found T60 with Ath5k has faster connection and strong signal.
Hope this AR5211 bug could be fixed right away.

I really only have this problems with kernels greater than 2.6.31-4.
Even 2.6.32 isn't able to mount the root filesystem.
I don't think it's a configuration problem but rather some filesystem-
change or similiar. I am using ext4 btw. Have been using Karmic sind
