I'm sorry to hear Ubuntu One isn't working properly for you.
Fortunately, I think there is a workaround for this problem as I believe
it's related to bug 455544 which occurs when the bandwidth preferences

One thing that is probably relevant here are the various quirks that
your computer has enabled for your video card going to sleep. You can

Microsoft Outlook allows to modify "subject" of incoming emails. This is very
very useful, especially when sender used a meaningless subject, or a simple
dot. This feature should be very useful also in Thunderbird.
