I tested everything, with the option acer-aspire-6530g the sound works
100% in this laptop. The originator probably had an upgrade problem,
because even with the default option it works 80%. So the real bug is
the wrong default option. I attach the output of alsa-info from my
working 5930g.?field.c
Same problem here, running 9.10 wubi from the c:\drive on win7. In order to get
going again, i tried basically all tips in this thread, with no luck. As a last
resort i renamed my c:\ubuntu folder to ubuntu.old, and installed a new wubi
instance. Then after restarting, esc out of grub to the sh

I've using wifi-radar perfectly in the same box with ubuntu 9.04 but when I've
upgraded the system to ubuntu 9.10 this problem started to happen.

Ok I see, calling "xrandr" will by default expand the virtual screen as
if the external monitor is right of LVDS, even if we directly call
"xrandr --output VGA1 --below LVDS".
I tried with LVDS1=1280x800 and VGA1=1280x1024 (native resolutions, chosen by

Indicator support for Empathy is a distro patch for ubuntu, so the
version in ppa:telepathy doesn't support the messaging indicator. You
will need to switch back to the default version in karmic to get that.

I can confirm the same behavior with my sony VAIO NS12M. Stopping and
restarting udev solves the problem, though, as MattSchnitz pointed out.

pavolzetor, we prefer to keep only one issue per bug report, since
otherwise bug reports fill up with irrelevant information. In this case
the original reported issue was the artifacts during boot, and that has
now been fixed. The flickering is a separate issue and deserves a
separate bug report.
Patch (for 3.2.8) fixed up to work properly with dpatch, and the
existing debian/ubuntu patches.

like is working... At least I could connect to the root user.
