Hi!
This bug was known before I claimend it and the solution was already found.
Only the thing you have to do is before setting the resolution, disable desktop
effects (compiz). That worked for me. Details see also here:

I just tested on both my desktop and netbook machines.
The problem occurs with version 1.0.2 on Ubuntu Netbook Remix 9.10.
The problem does not occur with version 1.0.2 on Ubuntu 9.10 on my desktop.
I use the same mirror on both machines.

Sound cuts out every 8 to 10 seconds (in might be more regular that
this, i dont make a good stopwatch).
While changing the volume (hardware keys) "fixes" it after it happens,
continually manipulating the volume (hardware keys) doesnt stop it from
occuring every 8 to 10 seconds.

I get the same type of error when starting all kind of gstreamer
applications: "RuntimeError: can't initialize module gst: Error re-
scanning registry , child terminated by signal"

If an app breaks and i close and reopen it without touching the volume
then that app once again has sound.
However, if i start youtube and wait for sound output to stop then
