After further observation, everytime the AC is plugged or unplugged,
the computer thinks its losing power which then triggers settings for

Sorry, but I've reinstalled Windows XP on my computer, so I won't have any
history of the Ubuntu system.
Thanks for taking the time to look into this problem, but I've decided that
I'll stick with XP on this old laptop; but when I buy my next I'll go for
Ubuntu again.

I maintain a customised distribution.
This bug is a problem in jaunty, but oddly enough was not a problem in feisty,
gutsy, hardy.
The blocks customised LiveCD builds. I would love to see a way around it.
Typically one sets up a minimal system, chroots into it, and then apt-
get's more package

very first try to hibernate on Karmic :-(

A further data point on more testing.
First, the problem also occurs on the windows version of ekiga, although
less often. Secondly, it only ever seems to occur to the caller. The
person called always seems to be able to see the remote video. For the

No one of the suggested fix worked for me.
I've also installed the latest libmtp, updated libmtp.rules
etc...nothingI can only see the player in nautilus but I cannot
connect it in mtp mode nor as "generic audio player" in amarok...
