Not sure if it adds much value, but still:
Stopping and starting nm-applet is enough to make it work for (one)
additional connection. There is no need to reboot or logout; killing nm-
appet and starting it again (with or without --sm-disable) will make the
VPN connection work once also.

The issue is resolved for me by executing:
sudo chmod 700 /usr/lib/cups/backend/cups-pdf
sudo chmod 700 /usr/lib/cups/backend

Referring to post #34, I found a workaround: If I select "Automatic
(PPP) addresses only" under my IPv4 settings and enter a nameserver

I have started using emapthy since I installed 9.10. I had had gajim
before, and it had notified me about new emails. I agree that this
feature is important. Of course one can use evolution, but I don't like
email clients other than gmail, so I don't use evolution. But if I want
to talk I prefer IM
I think this issue is nvidia or compiz related, I can reproduce this only with
gedit or openoffice,everything happens randomly. If the pc is a bit stressed is
easier to get this kind of errors. I had this error with every version of
Ubuntu I've tried so far, starting from Gutsy. Somebody suggest

Huh, I don't get it, why isn't this a bug? Log file viewer is throwing errors
about files it expects to be there while it shouldn't expect them (so it
shouldn't throw errors).
A clean install of Karmic does not throw these errors (even if the files are
not there), an upgraded install of Karmic (
