I run Kubuntu Karmic 9.10 x86 64 and in menu "tools" there are the
"gestion de certificats" and "journalistation gnupg" are in grey and
can't be used.

I solved the issue.
The problem was in the scanner being moved from epson backend to epson2
backend.
Putting the right code in the right file made everything work.

I didn't sort it out - fortunately I'd made a backup (firstly by copying
to another drive, and secondly locally by renaming the home folder to
'ben-bak'... So after waiting for 1.9GB to download, i spent another 7
hours waiting for the CD to download, and did a fresh install instead.
