I too am suffering from this issue.
I have a Huawei 220 modem.
This isssue did not occur on the 8.x version of Ubuntu from which I
upgraded yesterday, to 9.04
For me the machine unfreezes after a while (at least 30 seconds,

I can confirm what BruceW is saying. Everything was fine until 2.6.31-14
update. Now the kernel is giving errors about non-ecc memory everytime I

I notice that I don't have the Install button under the description tab of Free
Software -> Games -> ZSNES Emulator.
Under other games, the Install button is present (like in FreeCiv).
The cause is probably that there isn't an amd64 port of zsnes, as I can see
from http://packages.ubuntu.com/karm
everything works with the mp620, thanks.

@mpt while on the whole i agree removing icons was a good idea as it
makes for a cleaner interface
but this as said in a previous comment really needs to be made a special
case and allow icons for this.

Is it ok deluge-core to be removed during the upgrade.
Please install the new 'deluged' package if you want to use the daemon.
