1) Does this only happen when the keyboard is already plugged in at

lshal > /tmp/hal.txt

I Updated my "xserver-xorg-video-intel" and its dependencies through the
normal Update Manager, my screen refused to load to normal resolution

all that surprised that it may be signaling from the wrong location.

This is a HUGE regression. I left a karmic desktop turned on overnight.
In the morning I was trying to figure out why my computer was so slow.
It turns out that pdflush was writing data to disk (swap) as fast as
possible and was stuck in IO Wait (D state in ps aux). pulseaudio was
taking almost 80%

Dereck Wonnacott's comment got me thinking (and worried that I may have
reported something wrong).
As a result of his comment I checked again and the reported content was indeed
the content of /etc/cups/cupsd.conf (see attachment).
What I did was:
rdrij...@dell-thuis:/etc/cups$ sudo cp cupsd.con
My wired connection is sometimes fast and sometimes extremely slow.
On my laptop (Acer Aspire 7730G) I'm using Firefox on 32 bit Ubuntu 9.10 beta
(up-to-date, done the last updates using the Update Manager).
I have never encountered this problem in Ubuntu 9.04 32 bit.

sdc1 (which is presumably the ext2 file system).

I don't know a lot about this, but everything I've read in the last 15
minutes suggests that nothing should be linked dynamically toe libbfd
(it's stated in the package info for binutils-dev, for example), but
that it's rather easy to wind up with this on accident: http://www.mail-

I also find this. Normal sized flash video are fine. Fullscreen starts
fine then deteriorates quick (2-3 seconds) to a very jumpy video (audio
is ok and is not jumpy). I am running an uptodate (11 Oct 2009) Jaunty
(64 bit version) with 64 bit (manually installed) adobe flash plugin.
