In aptitude, the package is indeed in the "Obsolete" section.

UPDATE: After booting up the system, the touch screen recognizes
touches -- however movement is reversed in the y-axis. Running the

change the default python version to use, so /usr/bin/python is a link
to python2.5. Here are the traces I get when launching Gajim from a

Tested with Ubuntu Karmic Koala Beta, booted of a live CD on 2009-10-08.
Mouse movement clipping and other screen anomalies seem corrected, and
everything seems smooth. There is another different problem that
happened after I rearranged the screens a couple times and re-enabled

Well, sadly, after reboot, the / filesystem would only mount read only.
The system is now sitting at terminal until I can come up with a way to
mount the filesystem, alter my source.list file (which does not show the
PPA I added to use your mountall.deb), and reinstall the good, but
broken mountall
If I understand the fix correctly, this is a bad idea.
It used to be, until recently (karmic bleeding edge), that I could boot the
recovery option,
do my stuff in single-user mode, and proceed to a graphical boot.
But now, not only GDM doesn't run by itself, running it manually appears to
have
Tickboxes next to all packages would also be helpful, especially given
the slightly esoteric ctrl & shift modifiers (which I agree should also
be supported) which a newb user may not be aware of.. just my 2 cents.

Don't think it has to do with conversion to ext4. I'm still running ext3

I switched the keybindings to the "screen-escape-keys" ones, and it
would be nice if, when doing that, the "Menu: F9" notification switched
over to "Menu: ^A-@" or something similar. It took me a while to figure
out how to get the menu. I know I can
