forcibly demoted, because gcc-4.3 packages had Provides: that were

Tested with all parameters as mentioned in the wiki page on the HP
EliteBook 8530p as follows:
- acpi=off: boots but no acpi functions
- acpi=ht: boots and screen now dims when unplugged but no other acpi functions
and battery not detected

This too is a fix (used on Jaunty):
In the terminal, perform the following:
gksudo gedit /etc/modprobe.d/blacklist.conf
Then add the following at the bottom of the file:
blacklist pcspkr
Now restart your machine. Note that the beep will still sound when
shutting down. However, once

Karmic. If you change the theme to e.g. DarkRoom, you still find the

I confirm that this is evince's fault. It currently hardly manages to
print just about any PDF correctly, either it spawns a gs which doesn't
ever finish, or it produces broken printouts. I downgraded to jaunty's
evince, and everything works fine again.

0ubuntu2~ppa1 would have been better when I uploaded it in the build
i can confirm that NM sees the interface but there is something wrong
with the driver now, my dmesg gets spammed with 100s of:
eth0: tx queue full !
messages at some boots ...
it worked on the third boot without the queue full messages, but there i see:
FEC ENET: rcv is not +last
so there seem
the issue should be fixed in karmic don't reopen the bug without testing
it there, it seems not important enough for a jaunty stable update
though

I just got my new Zepto G14b laptop and are using an updated Karmic

I have just discovered that the ozonebe.net access point I was trying to
connect to was damaged in a thunderstorm last night. I have also been
able to reproduce the slow downloads via one access point in Windows. In
other words it is possible/likely that Linux has nothing to do with the
problem(s).
