@Robert,
I did "bzr mv .bzr .." because that's what you told me to type! I did
wonder if I should just move it. :-)
Not sure if the failed command created the ~/.bzr directory or not. I'll
check the creation dates on it and examine its contents when I get home.

I'm fairly sure I've got an M3N78-EM that is working just fine under
ubuntu 9.04 (mythbuntu).
This is probably a good question to push off to the ubuntu forums.

Hallo,
Yes, it is acceptably quick and normal.
This machine has 11 partitions and totally 25 kernels, so it takes ca. 65
seconds to re-generate the entire grub.cfg. That is not bad at all. Very normal
indeed.

Attached is a short video. The first part is the login to an xterm
session. The second attempt is a login to a gnome session. I think the
last frame got lopped off when I stopped the camera but effectively it
goes back to the login screen.

This should be fixed with libdrm 2.4.13-1ubuntu1 in stock Karmic.

I found several bugs in openoffice.org-kde (karmic 32bit, all updates as
of today applied). For instance the open/save dialog always starts at
the "/home" directory. Starting in "/home/user" would be much better.
Even when I open a file in a certain directory and hit "Save As" it
defaults to "/home
Oh, and I forgot to tell in comment #18 that these problems disappear
when openoffice.org-kde is removed and OOo falls back to the non-kde
open/save dialogs.

I've tried Cavedon's PPA a couple of times but it always produced
tearing even after reboot - so I downgraded back the packages that were
replaced.
However just to be sure I'm not getting something wrong - could someone
provide details of steps to install the patched version of mesa?
