accidentally for me is because sometimes the pointer is in a "bad
state": I move it over the tab and it's like you click-and-hold over the
tab (even though the mouse is not clicked). Then I accidentally move it
towards the panel

Just to confirm: this bug still occurs under the current Karmic alpha 4
release.
The xmodmap workaround does work somewhat. But as an attached USB
keyboard works properly while the MacBook keyboard has the 2 keys
switched, so the behavior is inconsistent. Therefore the "workaround" is
unsatisfacto
Clarification (I did read the above comments but not close enough
apparently). An attache apple USB keyboard works correctly, while the
internal Apple Macbook (4,1) keys are switched in Karmic Alpha4

I cannot reproduce this behavior and I don't get the d-bus timeouts on
gnome-power-manager either. Can you please do these three commands in a
Terminal and check if any of them time out?
dbus-send --system --print-reply --dest=org.freedesktop.DeviceKit.Power
/org/freedesktop/DeviceKit/Power org.fr
Same problem on a Apple MacBook 4,1. Brightness keys used to work like a
charme in Jaunty. Tested Karmic alpha and brightness keys don`t work
anymore. Colume changes still work, so the special keys did not totally
stop working.
