durring bootup, it the power cord is not plugged it hangs and you have to keep

Seeing this issue on my Lenovo x301 in Karmic Alpha 4 w/latest updates
as of 08-26. I end up turning of wireless in Network Manager, doing a
'modprobe -r iwlagn', followed by a 'modprobe iwlagn', and turning
wireless back on to resolve it.

Same here, Karmic stops shuting down at "Checking unattended-upgrades *asking
all remaining tasks to terminate". Latest updates from Today with the 31-7
Kernel.
My Gateway 5056b refuses to restart or to shut down from the begining (I
started from Alfa3).

On the .pot: the issue is that we usually update the .pot /during build/
to make sure it contains the latest strings (might be out of date in the
upstream release or new strings might be added in Ubuntu patches). So I
was asking whether it's useful or not to bother to update the .pot
during build.
