The blue-backgrounds doesn't seem to be ppc dependent (nor ubuntu
dependent for that matter). I just saw the exact issue when debugging
mesa swrast on an linux/intel client and a darwin/ppc x11 server.

My guess is that this is a hardware bug... unless someone else can

XF86AudioRaise/LowerVolume are recognized but are not having any audible

No, I am not using desktop effects.
Also, I tried to let xord autodetect my display, but when it went into
low graphics mode, and I clicked on autodetect settings, it just re-
popped up the box again. In the end, I had to put the original

Could somebody experiencing this bug and can recreate it easily please
run the following in a terminal to try and get a more useful backtrace,

I can also confirm. I have mine set to turn on screensaver after 5
minutes and turn off the monitor after 15 minutes. Both were working
before upgrade, but neither work now.

I have a very similar issue affect me too.
The notify-osd works fine (volume, network, IM, etc ) except for brightness~
When I am changing the brightness the original gnome notification show up
instead.
I didn't have this problem when I was testing on Karmic Alpha3 and Jaunty.
