This appears to be a problem in the grub-pc package not placing the
resume=X clause into the boot path.
I've done this manually but not very cleanly into /etc/grub.d/10_linux
and after update-grub I can reboot from hibernate.

things to normal is to run "sudo /etc/init.d/nfs-kernel-server restart"

Well, I unfortunately spoke too soon. After writing the previous
comment, I thought: 'Let's try one more time.' I logged of from my
desktop session and got just a black screen again. Machine was still
running, as TTY were available, but I had to reboot to get a gdm login
screen.

The change has not been targetting to stable because nobody really
worked on that, that's not optimal but
- the team is way understaffed for the number of bugs and don't manage to read
everything so forget about backporting every change, the focus is usually on
the next version (if you keep work
