I just upgraded to the 1.09 BIOS also. I've got 2 gigs of ram and dual

I did an upgrade from jaunty to karmic, and did not hit this problem.
The current version is a bit newer (2.10.1-0ubuntu2). There's nothing
obvious in its preinst script that would indicate failure.
If you can reproduce this, could you run the preinst script with the -x
option so we have a chance

I came across the same problem after accidentally starting the backup
without having the backup media mounted. Finding the tricky space is
tricky since you have to unmount some devices in order to see the

for me, it just doesn't play anything of the file, it says "opening..."
and than it stops playing. Thats all.

Same symptom in 9.04.
Nasty in 8.04 which is LTS and typically used as home server:
The command
find $1 -depth -xdev -print | cpio -pdm $2
is not usable since 16 months!
We have to use rsync instead.
