i follow your method, and let the xserver to run again by using i810
driver, thanks your suggestion and i can upgrade my Fujitsu to Karmic.
However, i cannot use gnome, and it is XFCS(i setup as xubuntu before).
When i want to install gnome again, it said, it will remove the i810
driver,
the tools are made this way because that allow user which don't have
rights to do change to see the configuration, not a bug
