I cannot confirm this. I have installed linux-backports-modules-jaunty,
but performance only increased little. Also the vanilla kernel 2.6.30
didn’t solve the issue for me.
In support forums, I have both heard people where the backports fixed

I can confirm the behaviour with slow refreshes for some 60-90 sec in my
case. Disabling Compiz got Karmic up and running again.
To be able to activate Compiz again I first had to supress autostart of
Awn.
Temporary solution:
sudo mv ~/.config/autostart/awn.desktop ~/.config/autostart/awn.desktop
Bug seems to be fixed in Jaunty and can be closed.

The default cursor theme for KDE is oxygen, but firefox change the
cursor shape to DMZ. Such behavior is only for Forefox, other GTK apps
doesn't have such issue. If you change the cursor theme using gnome-

It is much worse now - I think it is because last kernel update? If I
watch movie, after minutes/half an hour the sound breaks. I can't find

@kikl: You still have to locate in the trash the deleted files after you
accidentally delete them. This can be really cumbersome and time-
consuming if there are hundreds of files in the trash.
Penalizing the user this way for a small mistake seems a bad idea,
specially if the warning before delet
FYI: xrandr 1.3.0 built from source works as expected.

Stellarium 0.10.2 (from synaptic) hangs Ubuntu 9.04 (Jaunty) 2.6.28-13-generic
on Lenovo R61e, latest updates at 12Jul09.
Runs perfect (well never mind the windowing) until touching (i.e. click on, it
doesn't activate) a drop down combo box in any of the configuration frames.
