Both "gst-launch playbin uri=file:///path/to/file.rmvb" and "ffplay"
play the entire video (I used the same 25min video that bugged at
Totem).
gst-launch play fine, ffplay prints a warning message like "invalid
codec" (asap I get home I update this information), and seems to play in
low FPS

I believe it was a problem only seen under NXclient.
I've spent a lot of time trying to come up with an alternate for
NXclient, but there seems to be nothing either in or out of repos that
compares, in terms of a remote log-in.

I just tried a fresh install in VMWare.
After clicking help in gnome-screenshot, it takes 4 seconds for the help window
to appear and then 8 seconds more for the content to appear.

Same problem in a clean install of Ubuntu/kubuntu 9.04 on an Asus P5KPL-AM mobo.

all connected peripherals - keyboard, mouse, KVM-switch, USB-scan

Warning or not, it's perturbing. I get this message with every boot in
Intrepid x86_64 with 2.6.27-14-generic.
Boot with the "nosplash" parameter and see if it isn't there. Granted,
as stated above it has no visible effect on my system; it would be
comforting to know what it means!

I just updated to the latest release of jaunty and the video went out
again. I tried the fix that was mentioned above (removing fglrx) but
that did not fix the problem this time. Any ideas?

The pull-lp-source and pull-debian-source scripts allow you to get
packages for different Ubuntu/Debian releases. An interesting feature
for the pull-revu-source script would be the ability to pass it an
upload ID or a date in order to download older versions of the package.
This could be useful in

The dialog should have the same language indicator as gnome-screensaver does.
This would solve several problems.
1. No way to now in which language you are typing your password.
2. No way to change the keyboard layout to type the password correctly.
I constantly end up with the following scenario
