My steps were:

I confirm this bug in jaunty with compiz enabled. I'm used to frequently
switch from one virtual desktop to another and I find this bug extremely
annoying. Also disabling panel tooltips in gconf-editor
(/apps/panel/global/tooltips_enabled) does not help at all.

WORKAROUND:
Downloaded wubi.exe from the website to a brand new Windows XP install.
Had DAEMONTools installed. Mounting any image in the DAEMONTools drive
caused the "Please insert disk in drive..." error message to go away.
Unmounting image caused error message to return.

* Avoid outputting anything to stdout in your postinst, since that
can confuse debconf, and postinst should not be verbose anyway.
Output to stderr is ok, if you must.
It might be better to redirect stdout to file descriptor 3.

script that adds that functionality (attached). Just execute it and you'll have
a basic bash completion.

Kubuntu 9.04 with Motorola V3xx here. Trying to use the phone as USB
modem but Network Management plasmoid widget has option "Mobile
broadband" disabled. I can connect successfully using UMTSMon tool so
it's not a hardware issue, however it works only when run with "sudo".
