It does it over both SSH and Samba - so I'm not sure how that could be
server specific. And the same occurs with pictures on the root of the
share (where there are no spaces) - i.e

There are only a few changes in this driver from Jaunty to Karmic.
Given the error message I am suspicious of one specific change. As a
first test I have backed out this suspicious change and have build some

You can still use initdb, but you cannot mix initdb with
pg_createcluster. You either need to stick with the upstream tools, or
use the Debian/Ubuntu tools.

Oh, btw, we don't modify PostgreSQL in that regard. We have a small
patch to libpq to update the default socket path (/tmp ->
/var/lib/postgresql/, for security reasons), but we don't touch
behaviour of the tools; that would be pretty evil.
pg_createcluster has a --locale option as well, FYI.

No love there either. Nouveau hates my GeForce 7150 card. I use the
nouveau driver on my desktop with a GeForce 6150. The only bug is the
screen is about half the correct brightness. Here is a pic of my laptop
running nouveau. I can't even boot Fedora since they use nouveau by
default.

I can confirm that this problem is new to Jaunty. Broke after the dist-
upgrade. File permissions were wet to root, changed them back to me and
dbus functions work over ssh tunnels again.

As you said, libtelepathy has been deprecated in favor of telepathy-
glib. AFAIK, mission-control 4 is the last component still using. We
hope to switch to mission-control 5 during the 2.27 cycle and so get rid
of the last component using libtelepathy

One more detail: Each special character before the $ sign eats one
character. This seems to be a unicode problem with one and two byte
characters.
E.g.
/media/data/Musik/aäaaa/ööooo$ # eats 3 characters when going backwards
/media/data/Musik/äüöäüöääöäüöäü$ # eats /many/ characters
/medi

Looks like a problem in kdenetwork-filesharing, which rewrites smb.conf
entries with "file://" prefixes. Bug 373618 is related. With a broken
smb.conf samba installation/upgrade will fail.
