The reason that it won't run from startup is because the OSD is on by
default. OSD needs an X display and tpb dies saying it can't open
display. You would think that it would be as simple as following the

I have had a similar problem. My external USB drive absolutely cannot be loaded
in UBUNTU version 8.04 and version 9.04.
In fact, version 9.04 does not even DETECT the external USB hard drive.
In order to have access to my USB external hard drive, I have to use
version 7.04.

When running the Banshee included with Ubuntu 9.04, mt-daapd shares that
open can be accessed without issue, however said version of Banshee
cannot connect to password protected mt-daapd shares. :( . The Jaunty
bundled version of Rhythm Box can connect to these same protected
shares, which is great

Actually I must have been doing something wrong earlier, the -o off
argument works now. I changed /etc/init.d/tpb so that line 16 is
tpb -c /etc/tpbrc -d
instead of
tpb -d

Changing the governor and/or forcing speeds with userspace has no effect
while on battery power:

http://localhost:631/admin and active the debug options. Restart the cups
server, and redo the steps, in order to have more logs.

floppy drive is constantly running. I found a process "devkit-disks-
daemon: polling /dev/sr0 /dev/fd0", after terminating it the floppy

You can add (class=Pidgin & role=buddy_list) to the Skip Taskbar section of the
Window Rules plugin.
Personally I use gnome-do, with the new Docky theme I don't need a
taskbar anymore.
