Well I should have been clearer, the offset menu problem is gone on all
versions using the latest git master branch versions of everything, but
the dropdowns do not render any more in anything but the static mesa
version. Hovering over the buttons still selects the menu in the correct

The way I 'fixed' this bug, is to set the Default Sample Rate to 48000
Hz. Can you try that to see if it resolves the issue for you? If so,
at least we know what's causing the problem.

AMD64, I got the freeze after less than 15 min only typing text in kate

The freezes began for me immediately after upgrading converting my
partitions from Ext3 to Ext4, but after speaking with other people in
the Ubuntu forums, that seems to be more of a coincidence than a cause.
Unfortunately, I picked a bad time to start using Ext4 since
Ubuntu/Kubuntu's instability

I think I can confirm your solution. I haven't had any corrupted file
system problems any more since the 10th of May. I changed a couple of
things, among which switching from SATA compatibility mode to AHCI.
Since then the system is more or less stable. More or less, because I

The hard driver is NTFS formatted, and plugged into e-sata connector. He
is listed in the media, but not mounted
To mount the DD, I need to click it, them a popup appear and ask me my
su password, and then I can access the hard-drive.
I would prefer it to automount, like the
Confirming with Dell usb keyboard and mouse. The system believes it has
a Macintosh mouse, the mouse does not react at all, the keyboard does. I
replaced the mouse by a targus optical mouse, which, apart from being
perversly pink, works very well.
