Well, after days of uninterrupted use, I finally got a system freeze in
Xubuntu 9.04. For me, this seems to happen most often when I am quickly
moving between various open windows. Like alcCapone, my mouse typically
still moves when the freeze occurs. My keyboard does not respond to
CTRL+ALT+F1

or?

I found a solution to the problem on my machine for this "freezing"
issue. I have a Broadcom Wireless adapter on my Dell Inspiron 1501
notebook and I was running the proprietary drivers from "Hardware
Drivers". As soon as I installed "fw-cutter" the problem of "freezing"

After changing managed to true, networking was half broken (ping would
work but not Netscape).
Restoring
/etc/NetworkManager/nm-system-settings.conf
to its original version did not solve the problem. After a while the
