Adding the blacklist fixed it for me as per the advice of Dave Vasilevsky. I'm

Workaround:Now running a newer kernel. 2.6.29.3 is working fine.
Something in the radeon driver not interacting with GE5? Gotta find free
open source alternatives to GE, but to have user level programs crashing

A bit off topic - but for those tempted to try Karmic to get around this, I'm
not hearing any crackles; but am getting hit
by #374010 where pulse stops with snd_pcm_delay() returned a value that is

I have reinstalled my kubuntu jaunty 64 Bit installation recently. This time I
selected the 177 driver and since then I don't have problems anymore.
I couldn't help but notice that all problems reported here are also for the
Quattro or NVS Series of NVidia Drivers for laptops.

Do you know why doesn't the bug have an importance assigned - this does

IMHO, the output of a port scan should be more verbose.
For example after initiating a scan you don't know how far it has
progressed.
Some way of knowing what port it is currently scanning, or how many
ports are left to scan would be nice.

It also happens to me and I'm using the 32 bit version (Ubuntu 8.10).
