I think only critical messages should be displayed while an application uses
fullscreen. There is always a reason why an app uses fullscreen, mostly because
it should hide other disturbing elements of the desktop or because the app
needs more space than provided by a maximazed window.

Ok, I'll try installing 2.6.30 final for ubuntu and report a new bug. As for
the fsck, the only time I didn't boot into single user mode and ran fsck by
hand was that one. My fstab entry is simple - "LABEL=Home/home ext4
relatime,defaults 0 0", and most errors I had were dat
somehow something changed since the last kernel updates on jaunty. I now
have kernel 2.6.28-12-generic (from jaunty-proposed) and it still
reboots if I don't use the "mem=4096M" argument, but the reboot happens

I confirm the bug here in a Vaio VGN-NR11Z/S. The bug was not present in Hardy
or Intrepid.
It is always reproducible, just open gmail and open a chat windows, try to
scroll.
This is my hardware. It may be another bug related to the Intel Graphic

Never had this with XP back when I was still using it. Only more recent
Ubuntu releases are giving me this problem. I think it started around

I have the same issue. Added some log messages to /etc/network/if-
up.d/mountnfs script and discovered that the script was exiting in
exit_unless_last_interface. That function reads /etc/network/interfaces
and exits if not all of the "auto" interfaces are currently up.

I have the same problem too.
I have an Intel 945GM. The problem occurs for me while using both
Jaunty's and Karmic's kernel. Upgrading xorg-xserver-video-intel to
2.7.1 from ubuntu-x-swat doesn't solve the problem either. I use the
32-bit version of Ubuntu with the generic kernel.

Sorry, I meant OpenSolaris 08.11 (not 09.11) above.
(Actually, on further testing it appears that my OpenSolaris VM is not
booting all the way under 2.6.28-10 either, but it certainly gets much
further than it does using the newer kernel.)

I am using Ubuntu 9.04 on HP dv6700 laptop. While connected through
wireless, my wifi indicator continuously blinks(red/Blue) while sending
and receiving from internet. While in idle state it remains blue.
