Apparently, there are many ways to control the backlight, and while
using the kernel is the default on your hardware, it is possible to
change that with xrandr. Take a look at bug 367309 for how to do this.

I have an HP Mini 1110NR and manually installing alsa-1.0.19 fixes the

After being fixed for a while (at least on my machines with all Ubuntu updates)

What is really strange is that it did allow me to install the first printer,

The patch looks ok to me, although I think that we could make it much
simpler by ripping out the acpi-support fallback entirely (which is
totally unsupported and broken now), and just call

packages.
* ubuntu-virt-server is a meta package that installs the basic packages
needed to *host* virtual machines
* ubuntu-virt-mgmt is a second meta package (also part of the same
source package) that contains
