Okay, this issue was caused by having two ATI Radeon HD3870's in my PC,
physically connected via a CrossFire cable. I physically removed one of
the GPUs from my system, did a fresh install of 9.04 and I am able to
logout with no problems. In my opinion, this is still a bug that needs

I set the screensaver timeout to 1 min and the display power down to 2

The sequence of events:
1- I plugged my laptop in AC power source.
2- switched on and the ubuntu starts. The keyboard don't work.
3- So I reboot it and keyboard works.

I've made a mistake in the description (corrected now), the second command I
typed is :
syndaemon -i 1 -t (not -d)
I don't understand your question, syndaemon with the option "-i 1" sould
disable the touchpad for 1 sec when I type something. It is working.
But when I add the option "-t", sy

another model as alsa seems to be able to guess which one is needed.

I can confirm this in jaunty evolution 2.26.1-0ubuntu1
