I think there is indeed a bug, or a lack of a choice on the FTP protocol
being used. I have access to a server allowing ftp connections, but not

I have always had Subpixel ordering set to "RGB", in conjunction with
full subpixel LCD smoothing. I have very consistently seen the bug occur
in QT based applications. It happens seemingly randomly, however: the
fonts will be fine one minute, then scrambled the next. I always run a
Gnome desktop.

every 'plong' sound 2 fifo's are opened, and not closed anymore. after a

As a workaround I rebuilt the package (as it is - no changes/patches

I can also confirm my MBP5,1 with latest Jaunty updates (uname -rv:

@Colin: there must be something different in your setup I guess... have
you changed anything which may have got it working?

Sorry, i do not use gnome anymore, i switched to a simple window-manager
with simple gtk+ apps that actually work, since my new pc is an eee
series. I may try it again, but later.

Every time when waking up from standby (suspend to RAM), my computer
screen is absolutely defaced. I can see some lines and colors, it
appears to be the screensaver password window. I can enter my password
and then I see some more orange, like maybe the standard ubuntu

there is no stacktrace in this log, you need to install
"libgtk2.0-0-dbg" and use "break gdk_x_error" in gdb before doing "run",
there is no need to specify the gnome-utils dbg version to install it,
it should take the current one by default
